Vision

The Directorate of Advanced Studies (DAS) is dedicated to improving the quality of research and generating knowledge that directly contributes to social progress and economic development at both national and international levels. The DAS envisions to enhance culture of applied and problem-solving research, innovation, academic integrity, and global collaboration.

About Directorate of Advanced Studies

The Directorate of Advanced Studies (DAS) at GCUF plays a pivotal role in coordinating and streamlining postgraduate academic affairs.

The key responsibilities of DAS include

Processing enrollments for MPhil and PhD students.
Managing proceedings for extra semester enrollments of MPhil and PhD students.
Scrutinizing comprehensive examination data.
Approving supervisory committees, synopses, and thesis topics.
Organizing thesis defenses and final evaluations.
Monitoring timely degree completion in line with HEC guidelines.
Formulating policies and procedures to ensure academic integrity, transparency, and efficiency.
Processing cases of MPhil and PhD students for approval by the Advanced Studies and Research Board (ASRB).
Scrutinizing postgraduate theses to ensure compliance with the prescribed format as laid down by the ASRB.
Preparing agendas and conducting meetings of the ASRB.
Executing the policies and decisions of the ASRB.
