Hall Council
Mission
To provide a safe, inclusive, and supportive residential environment that promotes academic excellence, personal development, and community living for students coming from diverse regions. The hostels aim to foster a sense of belonging, discipline, and well-being through structured guidance, secure facilities, and accessible support services.
Introduction
The University Hall Council currently oversees thirteen girls’ hostels located across both the Allama Iqbal Campus and the New Campus, offering residential facilities to approximately 4,000 students.
To address the increasing demand for accommodation particularly from students arriving from distant and remote areas, four additional hostels are included in the New Campus master plan. Once completed, these new hostels will provide housing capacity for another 4,000 female students. Nearly half of the university’s female student population comes from far-off regions, and their families prioritize secure, peaceful, and well-managed accommodation. This ongoing expansion reflects the university’s firm commitment to providing safe and high-quality residential facilities, supporting female students in their pursuit of academic excellence in a comfortable and secure environment.
Hostel Admission and Facilities at Government College University, Faisalabad
Hostel admission at Government College University, Faisalabad (GCUF) is strictly granted on merit determined by the distance between the applicant’s home district and the university. After securing admission to the university, a student must submit a hostel admission application in the name of Chairperson Hall Council along with the printed admission form duly recommended by the Chairperson or In-Charge of the concerned academic department to the Hall Council Offices. The form can be obtained from the Hall Council Offices upon payment of a processing fee of Rs. 300. Each hostel is managed by a regular female faculty member appointed as Superintendent, assisted by an Assistant Superintendent. Both officials reside within the respective hostel to provide supervision, facilitate students, and ensure discipline.
All hostels are equipped with a student-run mess system, overseen by the Hostel Superintendent and the Hall Warden. Additional facilities include generator backup and internet connectivity to support students in their academic and research pursuits. In the event of a medical emergency, students are promptly transported to nearby hospitals, with a university ambulance service available 24/7. Furthermore, round-the-clock security is ensured through posted guards at hostel gates to safeguard the residents.
Students are expected to strictly follow the hostel rules and regulations set by the Hall Council. All dues must be paid on time. Violation in disciplinary or financial regulations may result in the cancellation of hostel admission by the Chairperson Hall Council, along with the forfeiture of any deposited security, if deemed necessary.
