The Department of Physics is imparting quality education and research guidance to its students with the aim of serving the community at large. All the faculty members of the Department are striving arduously for achieving excellence in their profession and are utilizing all their potential to the maximum for uplifting the academic standards of the University. Currently, the department is offering undergraduate and postgraduate programs. In order to broaden and deepen the vision of its students according to the needs of the 21st century, the Department of Physics is particularly focusing on activity-based learning. By establishing academic and research linkages with local as well as international institutions, the Department of Physics provides a conducive environment for the academic and professional development of its students. The recently organized national as well as international conferences, seminars, Webinars and workshops speak volume of the efforts the department has taken to ensure that its students are provided with an in-depth understanding of the field. Owing to the availability of a wide variety of specialized PhD staff, the Department offers research opportunities to students in condensed matter physics, plasma physics, health and medical physics, semiconductor materials, Laser spectroscopy, Nano technology and theoretical physics.
