Vice Chancellor calls for collective action against environmental challenges during GCUF plantation drive

The Spring Tree Plantation Campaign was formally inaugurated at Government College University Faisalabad by Vice Chancellor Prof Dr Rauf-i-Azam, who planted a sapling at the New Campus to mark the occasion. The ceremony was attended by Pro Vice Chancellor Prof Dr Nasir Amin, deans, directors, heads of academic departments, faculty members and a large number of students, who actively participated in the plantation drive.

Chairman Estate Care New Campus Prof Dr Muhammad Naeem Iqbal briefed the Vice Chancellor on ongoing and proposed projects related to the development and beautification of grounds, lawns and green areas of the campus.

Speaking on the occasion, Prof Dr Rauf-i-Azam described tree plantation as a pressing need in the face of climate change and environmental degradation. He urged faculty members and students to take personal responsibility by planting at least one tree each and ensuring its proper care to help address environmental challenges.

The Vice Chancellor appreciated the efforts of Chairman Estate Care Dr Muhammad Naeem Iqbal and his team for their commitment to maintaining and improving the campus environment. He reiterated that providing a healthy, pleasant and eco-friendly atmosphere at both campuses of the university remains a top priority of the administration, and assured that sustained efforts would continue in this regard.
