GCUF Vice Chancellor Attends Conference on Preventing Violent Extremism

The Vice Chancellors’ Conference on Preventing & Countering Violent Extremism was organized in Lahore by the Punjab Centre of Excellence on Countering Violent Extremism (Home Department). The conference brought together Vice Chancellors from public and private universities to align academic efforts with the Revised National Action Plan.
Prof. Dr. Rauf-i-Azam, Vice Chancellor of Government College University Faisalabad, attended the conference. Khawaja Salman Rafique graced the occasion as the chief guest.
The conference emphasized the vital role of universities in youth empowerment, social cohesion, and preventing extremism at its roots. Discussions focused on transforming higher education institutions into a frontline defense against online radicalization and hate speech through dedicated research fellowships and socio-economic mainstreaming initiatives.
