Announcement of Establishing a License Test Center and Initiatives to Raise Awareness Among Students

Government College University Faisalabad and Punjab Highway Patrol Police have reached a consensus to launch a joint awareness campaign aimed at educating students about traffic rules and regulations. In this regard, GCUF Vice Chancellor Professor Dr. Rauf-i-Azam visited the Faisalabad headquarters of the Patrolling Police, where he was warmly received by SSP Mirza Anjum Kamal.

During the visit, the Vice Chancellor was briefed on the operational procedures of the patrolling police and ongoing traffic awareness activities in the Faisalabad Division. Dr. Rauf-i-Azam laid floral wreaths at the martyrs’ memorial and offered prayers. He also distributed certificates of appreciation to police officers who rendered exemplary services.

In the meeting, both leaders agreed to hold special awareness sessions at GCUF for faculty, staff, and students regarding traffic laws. Additionally, it was announced that a dedicated test center for obtaining LTV (Light Transport Vehicle) and motorcycle driving licenses would be established on the university campus, enabling students and staff to acquire licenses conveniently.

On the occasion, Vice Chancellor Dr. Rauf-i-Azam remarked that human behavior is a major cause of traffic accidents, and positive behavioral changes can best be brought about through educational institutions. He emphasized that universities play a vital role in national development, and GCUF is actively engaged in promoting rule of law and traffic awareness through community outreach programs.

The Vice Chancellor further stated that the safety of students and staff is a top priority. Therefore, the use of helmets will be made mandatory on campus to help prevent the loss of precious lives in road accidents.

SSP Mirza Anjum Kamal noted that the police are an integral part of society and that law enforcement cannot be achieved without public cooperation. He urged young students to contribute to the promotion of positive moral values in society to help share the burden of the police.

The meeting also featured an in-depth discussion on traffic issues, human behavior, social values, and infrastructure.
