The Green Youth Movement Club under the Directorate of Students Affairs Government College University Faisalabad, in collaboration with the Department of Environmental Sciences and the Department of Bioinformatics and Biotechnology, organized a seminar to commemorate the International Day for Biological Diversity 2025.

The event featured Professor Dr. Mushtaq Ahmad (TI) from Quaid-i-Azam University, Islamabad, as the guest speaker. He delivered an insightful talk on the significance of biodiversity and the urgent need for its conservation in the face of global environmental challenges.

At this occasion Professor Dr. Rauf-i-Azam, Vice Chancellor of GCUF emphasized that educational institutions play a pivotal role in shaping environmentally responsible citizens who understand the value of biodiversity in ensuring ecological balance and human well-being.
He further said at GCUF, we are committed to raising awareness, promoting research, and fostering responsible actions among students and faculty to protect and conserve our natural heritage.

Professor Dr. Farhat Jabeen, Dean Faculty of Life Sciences, also addressed the audience. She emphasized the importance of engaging youth in biodiversity preservation and commended the efforts of the organizing team.

Prof. Dr. Sabir Hussain, In-charge of the Green Youth Movement Club, along with his dedicated team, reaffirmed their unwavering commitment to the mission of biodiversity conservation and environmental protection. With passion and purpose, they continue to lead initiatives that inspire sustainable practices and nurture a deeper connection with nature.
