The 80th meeting of the Advanced Studies and Research Board (AS&RB) of Government College University Faisalabad was held under the chairmanship of Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Rauf-i-Azam in the Conference Room of Allama Iqbal Library, New Campus.

During the meeting, the Board conducted a comprehensive review of the external examiners’ reports on the PhD theses submitted by research scholars from various faculties. After careful deliberation, several theses were approved subject to minor revisions, enabling the respective candidates to proceed with the remaining formalities for the award of their PhD degrees. In certain cases, necessary directions were issued in accordance with the recommendations of the external examiners.

The Board also deliberated on a wide range of academic and research matters, including decisions of the respective Boards of Faculties, registration of PhD students in additional semesters, PhD admissions, approval of supervisors, constitution of examination panels, research publications, and other significant academic and research issues. All cases were decided in accordance with the University’s rules, regulations, policies, and prescribed academic standards.

The meeting was attended by the Deans of various faculties, members of the Board, the Director of Advanced Studies, the Director of the Quality Enhancement Cell (QEC), the Director of the Office of Research, Innovation and Commercialization (ORIC), the Director Academics, the Controller of Examinations, the Registrar, and other relevant officials.

On the occasion, Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Rauf-i-Azam emphasized the importance of promoting research that meets international standards and ensuring the timely completion of degree programmes.
