Government College University Faisalabad has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with London South Bank University (LSBU), United Kingdom, to strengthen cooperation in research, innovation, commercialization and academic exchange. The agreement was signed during an official visit to the UK by GCUF Vice Chancellor 𝐏𝐫𝐨𝐟 𝐃𝐫 𝐑𝐚𝐮𝐟-𝐢-𝐀𝐳𝐚𝐦 and LSBU Pro Vice Chancellor 𝐏𝐫𝐨𝐟 𝐃𝐫 𝐑𝐨𝐝𝐧𝐞𝐲 𝐃𝐚𝐲.

The partnership aims to promote collaborative research, student and faculty exchange programmes, joint degree opportunities in line with Higher Education Commission (HEC) policies, and  capacity building initiatives. GCUF and LSBU are already collaborating in the fields of nanotechnology, materials sciences in addition with Environmental sciences, Health sciences and engineering. The new agreement is expected to further expand cooperation in these areas and encourage joint research projects, participation in international conferences and scientific exhibitions.

Speaking on the occasion, Prof Dr Rauf-i-Azam said international partnerships were essential for advancing research excellence, innovation and global academic engagement. He expressed confidence that the collaboration would create valuable opportunities for students and faculty members of both institutions and further strengthen academic ties between Pakistan and the United Kingdom.
