GCUF Hosts “Lyallpur Academia Industry Nexus (LAIN 2026)” to Strengthen Academia-Industry Collaboration

Government College University Faisalabad organized two-day mega event “Lyallpur Academia Industry Nexus and Expo (LAIN 2026)” at the Quaid-i-Azam Auditorium, bringing together academia, industry, researchers, entrepreneurs, innovators, and the business community under one roof.
The event was jointly organized by the Directorate of Industrial Linkages, Business Incubation Center, Department of Food Science, and Lyallpur Business School with the aim of strengthening meaningful partnerships between academia and industry for sustainable economic and social growth in accordance with the demands of the modern world and technological advancement.
LAIN 2026 served as a dynamic platform where innovative ideas met industrial vision, academia connected with industry leaders, researchers and entrepreneurs collaborated with the business community, and students explored future opportunities in startups, innovation, and emerging technologies. The two-day event featured an Industrial Expo, panel discussions, thematic symposiums, startup and innovation opportunities, business networking sessions, and research commercialization forums. Different industrial, food, and manufacturing stalls were also established for students and the general public to showcase products, services, and technological advancements.
Vice Chancellor GCUF, Prof. Dr. Rauf-i-Azam, while addressing the participants, termed LAIN 2026 a historic initiative for Faisalabad that would bridge the gap between educational institutions and the industrial sector while promoting entrepreneurship, innovation, research commercialization, and economic progress. He further said that universities must play a leading role in connecting academic research with industrial needs to produce practical solutions for societal and economic development. Participants emphasized that strong academia-industry collaboration is essential for preparing students according to modern market demands and global challenges.
The Vice Chancellor appreciated the efforts of the management of Lyallpur Academia Industry Nexus, especially Prof. Dr. Umair Arshad, Director Industrial Linkages, and his team for successfully organizing the large-scale event.
Vice Chancellors of various universities, innovators, industrialists, members of the Chamber of Commerce, policymakers, researchers, syndicate members of GCUF, Parliamentarians, and representatives from different sectors participated in the event and appreciated the initiative taken by GCUF for promoting industrial-academic partnerships in Pakistan.
