GCUF has launched the Plantation for Generations; drive, 500 trees will be planted at the new campus

A tree plantation drive titled “Plantation for Generations” was formally launched at Government College University Faisalabad. Vice Chancellor GCUF, Prof Dr Rauf-i-Azam, inaugurated the campaign by planting saplings at the Sports Ground of the New Campus, along with university deans, directors and faculty members.
During the drive, more than 500 flowering and fruit-bearing trees were planted at various locations across the New Campus. In addition, trees mentioned in the Quran and Hadith were planted in the vicinity of the mosque.
The Vice Chancellor appreciated the efforts of Chairperson Estate Care Department, Prof Dr Naeem Iqbal, and said that such initiatives play a vital role in bringing positive change in society.
Addressing the ceremony, Prof Dr Rauf-i-Azam emphasized that a university is not only a center of learning but also a training ground for environmentally responsible behavior. He added that if the younger generation understands the importance of trees today, it can ensure an environmentally friendly and sustainable Pakistan in the future. He further said that Government College University Faisalabad is actively contributing not only in the field of education but also towards environmental sustainability.
Participants of the plantation drive expressed their commitment to collectively lay the foundation for a greener, cleaner and safer Pakistan for future generations, ensuring a healthy and peaceful environment.
