The Institute of Arts and Design at Government College University Faisalabad organized a remarkable thesis exhibition showcasing the work of BS Textile Design students. The exhibition highlighted the students’ creativity, artistic excellence, and innovative textile designs.

The exhibition was inaugurated by the Vice Chancellor of Government College University Faisalabad, Professor Dr. Rauf-i-Azam, accompanied by President of the Faisalabad Chamber of Commerce and Industry Farooq Yousaf Sheikh, Chairman of the Powerloom Association Waheed Khaliq Ramey, Dean of the Faculty of Economics and Management Sciences Professor Dr. Sofia Anwar, and Director ORIC Professor Dr. Tanveer Shehzad. A large number of distinguished personalities from industry, commerce, academia, and the textile sector, along with faculty members, students, and citizens, attended the event.

The students presented thesis projects featuring traditional Pakistani attire, Rajasthani-inspired garments, contemporary textile designs, household products, home textiles, decorative items, and innovative interior decoration concepts. The exhibits received widespread appreciation from visitors, who praised the students’ artistic standards, innovation, and creative thinking as being well aligned with the needs of the textile industry.

On the occasion, Vice Chancellor Professor Dr. Rauf-i-Azam toured the exhibition in detail and expressed keen interest in the students’ projects. He stated that Faisalabad is not only a major textile hub of Pakistan but also an important center of the global textile industry, where the development of a skilled workforce capable of meeting modern industrial demands is of vital importance. He added that the students of Government College University Faisalabad are producing high-quality work through modern research, creativity, and practical skills while keeping industry requirements in view, which is highly encouraging.

The Vice Chancellor further remarked that such exhibitions provide students with valuable opportunities to showcase their talents, establish direct links with industry representatives, and gain practical exposure. He reaffirmed the university’s commitment to strengthening industry-academia collaboration by continuing to organize similar activities in the future, enabling students to connect more effectively with employment and entrepreneurial opportunities.

During the ceremony, participants appreciated the efforts, guidance, and creative contributions of Tehmina Afzal, In-Charge of the Institute of Arts and Design, the faculty members, and the students. They observed that such exhibitions not only highlight the potential of young designers but also play a significant role in introducing new trends and innovative ideas to Pakistan’s textile industry.
