Government College University Faisalabad Holds 81st Meeting of the Advanced Studies and Research Board

The 81st meeting of the Advanced Studies and Research Board (AS&RB) of Government College University Faisalabad was held under the chairmanship of Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Rauf-i-Azam. The meeting was attended by the Deans of various faculties, distinguished members of the Board, the Registrar, the Director ORIC, the Director Advanced Studies, and other concerned officers.
At this occasion Prof. Dr. Matloob Ahmad, Director Advanced Studies, presented the agenda and briefed the Board on the matters placed before the meeting. During the session, the Board deliberated extensively on a wide range of academic and research matters, including M.Phil. and Ph.D. research theses from various faculties, reports of foreign examiners, conduct of viva voce examinations, semester extension and enrolment cases, supervisory matters, and other issues related to graduate studies and research.
After detailed discussion, the Board approved various recommendations in accordance with the policies of the Higher Education Commission (HEC), university regulations, and established academic standards.
Addressing the participants, Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Rauf-i-Azam emphasized the pivotal role of quality research in the advancement of higher education. He stated that Government College University Faisalabad remains committed to fostering a research culture that promotes innovation, critical inquiry, and academic excellence.
He further stressed the importance of maintaining transparency, research integrity, quality assurance, and timely completion of research projects to enhance the university’s national and international academic reputation. The Vice Chancellor also highlighted the need for strengthening interdisciplinary research collaborations and encouraging scholars to undertake impactful research that contributes to societal development and addresses contemporary challenges.
