Government College University Faisalabad, Punjab Charities Commission Hold Seminar on Academia-CSO Collaboration

Government College University Faisalabad, in collaboration with the Punjab Charities Commission (PCC), organized an interactive capacity-building seminar titled “Strengthening Collaboration between Academia and Civil Society Organizations” at the STC Hall.

The seminar brought together around 200 chief executive officers, chairpersons and representatives of civil society organizations, along with faculty members and officials from the Counter Terrorism Department, Special Branch, Social Welfare Department, Industries Department and the Securities and Exchange Commission of Pakistan.

The proceedings began with the recitation of the Holy Quran, followed by the National Anthem and a welcome address by Prof. Dr. Sabir Hussain, Chairperson of the Department of Environmental Sciences, GCUF.

Colonel (R) Shahzad Ameer, Chief Executive Officer of the Punjab Charities Commission, highlighted the Commission’s role in promoting transparency, compliance and good governance in the charitable sector. Mr. Muhammad Osama, Assistant Director Audit, PCC, delivered a presentation on risk management, internal controls and organizational accountability, while Ms. Qurat-ul-Ain, Lecturer at the University of Agriculture Faisalabad, underscored the role of academia in strengthening civil society organizations.
