GCUF Management Board Reviews Development Plan for Newly Donated 14-Acre Land

The Management Board of Directors of Government College University Faisalabad (GCUF) held a meeting at the Vice Chancellor Secretariat, New Campus, to review matters related to the 14-acre piece of land donated by the university’s alumnus, Engineer Qamar Zaman, at Mouza Dhanola, Chak No. 117 J-B, as well as the University Model School. The meeting was chaired by Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Rauf-i-Azam.
The meeting was attended by Prof. Dr. Nasir Amin, Dr. Saulat Nawaz, Prof. Dr. Naeem Iqbal, Prof. Dr. Muhammad Iqbal, Zeeshan Ahmad Khan and Mian Aamir Mahmood. Participants deliberated on the preparation of a comprehensive master plan for the newly acquired land, the construction of Faazal Park, the boundary wall, and other development projects. The board also discussed the establishment of a modern animal house to support teaching and research activities in the Departments of Zoology, Bioinformatics, Botany and Medical Sciences.
The board paid tribute to Engineer Qamar-U-Zaman for his generous contribution and valuable services to GCUF. Members acknowledged his continued guidance and commitment as the Lifetime Advisor to the Management Board.
The Board also agreed that the university would develop a state-of-the-art Faazal Park as a community service initiative, providing recreational and public welfare facilities for the residents of the surrounding area.
Speaking on the occasion, Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Rauf-i-Azam said that GCUF is committed to strengthening modern academic and research infrastructure while actively contributing to community development. He said the newly donated 14-acre land would be developed in line with future educational and research requirements and transformed into a centre of academic excellence and public service. He reaffirmed the university’s commitment to ensuring transparency, quality and timely completion of all development projects.
At the conclusion of the meeting, the Management Board appreciated the dedicated efforts and visionary leadership of Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Rauf-i-Azam, particularly his role in the establishment of the University Model School and the planning of key development initiatives. The board expressed confidence that under his leadership, GCUF would continue to achieve new milestones in academic excellence and institutional development.
