GCUF Holds International Seminar on Emerging Trends in Cardiovascular Pharmacology Research

The Department of Pharmacology, Faculty of Pharmaceutical Sciences, Government College University Faisalabad , organized an international seminar titled “Recent Trends in Pharmacology Research in Developed Countries, with Special Focus on Cardiovascular Disorders.” The event brought together renowned national and international scientists, researchers, healthcare professionals, faculty members, and students to discuss recent advances in cardiovascular pharmacology and promote international academic collaboration.
Dean, Faculty of Pharmaceutical Sciences, Prof. Dr. Muhammad Irfan, who patronized the seminar, highlighted the importance of research-based education and global scientific collaboration in addressing emerging healthcare challenges. Prof. Dr. Abdul Rauf Bhatti, Dean, Faculty of Engineering and Technology, attended as the Guest of Honour and shared his views on interdisciplinary research and innovation.
The keynote address was delivered by Prof. Dr. Ismail Laher, Professor of Pharmacology at the University of British Columbia, Canada. He discussed recent developments in cardiovascular pharmacology, including precision medicine, pharmacogenomics, personalized therapies, vascular biology, and novel treatment strategies for cardiovascular diseases.
An invited lecture was presented by Dr. Malik Hassan Mehmood, Chairman, Department of Pharmaceutical Sciences, GC University Lahore. He emphasized advancements in experimental pharmacology, drug discovery, translational research, and the importance of collaborative research among academic institutions. Earlier, the participants were welcomed by the organizing committee. Dr. Liaqat Hussain, Teacher In-charge and Chief Organizer, and Dr. Shumaila Mehdi, Organizing Secretary, highlighted the objectives of the seminar and welcomed the distinguished guests and participants.
Exhibition stalls by OMRON Pharma and Genre Pharma showcased advanced healthcare technologies, digital blood pressure monitoring devices, and innovative pharmaceutical products, offering participants valuable exposure to modern developments in cardiovascular healthcare.
