GCUF Seminar Highlights AI-Driven Innovation and Entrepreneurship in Applied Chemistry

The Department of Applied Chemistry at Government College University Faisalabad organized a one-day seminar titled “Bridging Industry, Academia and Artificial Intelligence: Entrepreneurial Opportunities for Applied Chemists” to discuss the growing role of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in scientific research, industrial innovation, and entrepreneurship.
Chairperson of the Department of Applied Chemistry, Prof. Dr. Shumaila Kiran, said the seminar aimed to strengthen academia-industry collaboration and equip students with the skills needed to thrive in a technology-driven world. Dean Faculty of Physical Sciences, Prof. Dr. Kaleem Khan Khosa, emphasized the importance of integrating AI, academia, and industry to develop innovative and market-oriented solutions.
Speaking at the seminar, Dr. Mariam Rehman, Chairperson of the IT Department, Mr. Mian Abdur Rasheed, Member Central Standing Committee on Trade and Public Relations, and Dr. Kazim Raza Naqvi, CEO of S & K Laboratories, and Muhammad Imran CEO The Eagles institute of E-commerce Faisalabad highlighted the transformative impact of AI, entrepreneurship, and industry-academia partnerships on the future of applied chemistry. They urged students to embrace emerging technologies, develop entrepreneurial skills, and contribute to industrial growth through innovation and research.
The seminar also featured a poster competition and product exhibition by BS Applied Chemistry students, showcasing innovative projects and chemistry-based products.
