The Higher Education Commission (HEC) Sports Division organized the Intervarsity Women Hockey Championship 2025-26 at Government College University Faisalabad, where 11 university teams from across the country participated in the prestigious tournament.

After competitive matches, Government College University Faisalabad, Punjab University Lahore, Superior University Lahore, and The University of Lahore qualified for the semi-finals of the championship. In the final match, Punjab University Lahore defeated Government College University Faisalabad to secure the championship title, while GCUF earned the runner-up position. Superior University Lahore and The University of Lahore were jointly declared third after their match remained scoreless within the stipulated time and subsequent proceedings.

Vice Chancellor Government College University Faisalabad, Prof. Dr. Rauf-I-Azam attended the closing ceremony as the chief guest and distributed cash prizes, shields, and trophies among the winning teams. Speaking on the occasion, the Vice Chancellor appreciated the performance and sportsmanship of all participating teams and reiterated the university’s commitment to promoting healthy academic and co-curricular activities among students.

Chairman Sports Board Prof. Dr. Nasir Amin, HEC representative Muhammad Asif, and Director Sports Dr. Saeed Javed was also present at the ceremony.

Director Sports Dr. Saeed Javed briefed the audience about the successful conduct of the championship and thanked all participating universities, officials, and organizers for their cooperation and contribution in making the event successful.
