Government College University Faisalabad Hosts 1st International Conference on Social Sciences

Department of Political science Government College University Faisalabad inaugurated the 1st International Conference on Social sciences at the university campus. The opening session of the workshop was inaugurated by Dean Social sciences Prof Dr Asim Mehmood. Incgarge Department of political science Dr Mian Muhammad Azhar, Dr Shan Ali, Dr Basit Khan, Chairperson IR Dr Ghulam Mustafa, Chairperson English Literature Dr Ghulam Murtaza and other senior faculty of social sciences were also present on the occasion.

Addressing the participants, Dean Dr Asim Mehmood said that social sciences play a vital role in understanding human behavior, shaping public policies, and promoting sustainable societal development. He stated that such international conferences provide an effective platform for researchers, academicians, and students to exchange ideas, promote research collaborations, and develop collective strategies to address global social challenges.

He further emphasized the importance of interdisciplinary research and strengthening academia-industry linkages to tackle emerging socio-economic and cultural issues in the modern world.

Earlier, Incharge Department of Political science and Chief Organizer Dr. Muhammad Azhar briefed the participants about the objectives and themes of the conference and highlighted the university’s efforts to promote research culture under the education and research-oriented policies of the Vice Chancellor.

The conference featured research presentations by international researchers and scientists along with around Pakistani scientists. International speakers from Singapore, Italy, Tyrkeyie, UAE and some other states presented their research papers, while prominent national scientists from Lahore, Multan, Faisalabad, and other cities also shared their academic contributions. Students from various universities and colleges participated enthusiastically in the conference and interacted with national and international scientists on emerging scientific and research trends.
