The two-day International Conference on Climate Change at Government College University Faisalabad has concluded

A two-day international conference was held with participation from scientists and researchers from Pakistan as well as countries including France, Austria, Thailand, China, Taiwan, and the Philippines.

The two-day International Conference on Climate Change at Government College University Faisalabad concluded successfully. The conference was chaired by the Vice Chancellor of Government College University Faisalabad, Prof. Dr. Rauf-i-Azam. A large number of environmental experts, researchers, and students from across Pakistan also attended the conference.

The primary objective of the conference was to promote modern research to address the challenges posed by climate change in the fields of agriculture, industry, and medicine, and to develop an effective future strategy.

During the conference, 18 technical sessions were held in which approximately 150 researchers and scholars presented their research papers. In addition, more than 130 posters and scientific projects were exhibited. Overall, more than 500 participants attended the conference.

The Principal Organizer of the conference was Professor Dr. Sabir Hussain, Chairman of the Department of Environmental Sciences, while Professor Dr. Farhat Jabeen, Dean of the Faculty of Life Sciences, served as the Patron.

On this occasion, Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Rauf-i-Azam stated in his address that environmental science is a vast and important field, and such international conferences open new avenues for research, playing a key role not only in the development of this field but also in related disciplines.

The conference was also addressed by Vice Chancellor of Bacha Khan University, Professor Dr. Khan Alam; Vice Chancellor of Faisalabad Medical University, Professor Dr. Zafar Ali Chaudhry; and President of the Soil Science Society of Pakistan, Professor Dr. Azeem Khalid. The speakers emphasized that climate change is currently a serious global challenge, with clear impacts on agriculture, human health, and the economy. They stressed that achieving sustainable development requires modern research, effective policymaking, and international collaboration. Furthermore, they highlighted that lasting solutions to environmental issues can only be achieved through strong linkages between educational institutions, research centers, and the industrial sector.
