Tree Plantation drive held at GCUF Site Campus

A Tree plantation drive and land demarcation ceremony was held at the 𝑆𝑖𝑡𝑒 𝐶𝑎𝑚𝑝𝑢𝑠 𝑜𝑓 𝐺𝐶 𝑈𝑛𝑖𝑣𝑒𝑟𝑠𝑖𝑡𝑦 𝐹𝑎𝑖𝑠𝑎𝑙𝑎𝑏𝑎𝑑 𝑎𝑡 𝐶ℎ𝑎𝑘 117-𝐽𝐵 (𝐷ℎ𝑎𝑛𝑜𝑙𝑎), 𝑜𝑛 𝑡ℎ𝑒 14-𝑎𝑐𝑟𝑒 𝑙𝑎𝑛𝑑 generously donated by Engineer 𝐐𝐚𝐦𝐚𝐫-𝐮-𝐙𝐚𝐦𝐚𝐧, a distinguished alumnus of Government College Faisalabad.
Vice Chancellor Prof Dr 𝐑𝐚𝐮𝐟-𝐢-𝐀𝐳𝐚𝐦, along with Engineer Qamar-u-Zaman, participated in the ceremony. University Deans, directors, faculty members and honorable residents of Chak 117-JB also attended the event.
Speaking on the occasion, the vice chancellor termed the donation a noble gesture, stating that contributing land for an educational institution is a significant step towards the promotion of higher education in Pakistan. He expressed his gratitude to Engineer Qamar-u-Zaman for his generous contribution to his alma mater.
Engineer Qamar-u-Zaman, an American national who completed his intermediate (pre-engineering) from Government College Faisalabad in 1962, said the donation fulfilled his long-standing commitment to his alma mater. He acknowledged the support of his family in making the contribution possible. He emphasized that education is essential for the economic, social and intellectual development of Pakistan, adding that only an educated society can guarantee the country’s progress and stability.
The donated land will be utilized for the establishment of the university’s campus, including academic blocks, playgrounds, sports facilities and spacious lawns to provide a conducive educational environment.
