Seminar on Human Trafficking Held at Government College University Faisalabad

A seminar on human trafficking was organized at Government College University Faisalabad under the auspices of the Directorate of Student Affairs to raise awareness among students and faculty about the growing menace of human trafficking and its far-reaching consequences.
The event was graced by Professor Dr. Hidayat Rasool, Director, Institute of Microbiology, as the Chief Guest. Mr. Hashim Raza, Deputy Director of the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA), served as the Resource Person, while Dr. Jafar Hassan Mubarak attended as the Guest of Honor.
Addressing the participants, the speakers shed light on the causes, consequences, and preventive measures related to human trafficking. Mr. Hashim Raza provided an in-depth overview of the tactics employed by trafficking networks, legal frameworks in place to combat the crime, and the role of law enforcement agencies in safeguarding vulnerable individuals. He urged students to remain vigilant and to report suspicious activities to the relevant authorities.
Professor Dr. Hidayat Rasool emphasized the vital role of educational institutions in creating awareness and fostering a sense of social responsibility among youth. He noted that universities must serve as platforms for dialogue and proactive engagement on critical social issues.
The seminar was attended by more than 200 students and over 20 faculty members. Participants actively engaged in the interactive session, reflecting a strong commitment to understanding and addressing the issue collectively.
