Government College University Faisalabad Inaugurates Green Solar Energy System at Chiniot Sub-Campus

In the present era, the energy crisis is a serious challenge, and the promotion of alternative energy sources in educational institutions is an urgent need of the time. These views were expressed by the Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Rauf-i-Azam, at the inauguration ceremony of the Green Solar Energy System at the Sub-Campus Chiniot. He further stated that solar energy is not only economical and environmentally friendly but will also significantly reduce institutional expenditures.
He added that Government College University Faisalabad is taking practical steps to promote green energy in line with the principles of sustainable development in order to provide students with a conducive, safe, and modern educational environment.
On this occasion, Campus Director Dr. Falak Sher and SDO Electrical Engineer Faisal Zulfiqar informed that the solar system is equipped with a battery backup, which continues to supply electricity and lighting to the campus during power outages.
During the briefing, the SDO stated that the Chiniot Campus has been fully shifted to green energy. A 260-kilowatt solar system has been installed, which produces approximately 25,000 to 30,000 units of electricity per month.
While briefing the Vice Chancellor on the efficiency and capacity of the new solar system, the Campus Director said that the system is equipped with state-of-the-art technology, ensuring uninterrupted power supply at the Chiniot Sub-Campus.
