An inauguration ceremony of the Girls’ Hostel, Faculty Residences, and Sports Complex was held at the Sub-Campus Chiniot of Government College University Faisalabad

The formal inauguration of the campus expansion projects was carried out by Federal Minister for the Board of Investment, Qaiser Ahmed Sheikh, Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Rauf-i-Azam and Member of the Punjab Assembly and Chairperson of the Standing Committee on Agriculture, Sardar Zulfiqar Ali Shah.
The inauguration ceremony was attended by distinguished parliamentarians, university deans, directors, faculty members, and a large number of male and female students. On this occasion, Campus Director Dr. Falak Sher presented a detailed briefing on the ongoing construction projects, available facilities, and academic development at the Chiniot Campus.
Addressing the ceremony, Federal Minister Qaiser Ahmed Sheikh stated that, in line with the requirements of the modern era, opportunities are being provided to young people to excel in higher education, research, and the economic sector. He said that the establishment of the Chiniot Campus would strengthen linkages between local industries and educational institutions, thereby promoting regional economic growth. He added that his life’s mission is to make Chiniot District a major educational hub of Pakistan, contributing significantly to the national economy.
In his address, Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Rauf-i-Azam said that the activation of the Chiniot Campus has transformed the destiny of the region by creating new employment opportunities and removing barriers to higher education for youth. He remarked that the campus is an important milestone toward academic, research, and economic development, ensuring a bright future for young people. He emphasized that higher education, research, innovation, and technology transfer are the only means to provide a strong foundation for Pakistan’s economy.
Member of the Punjab Assembly Sardar Zulfiqar Ali Shah said that the provision of educational facilities in remote areas, particularly for women, is a commendable initiative. He encouraged the youth to advance in the field of education and turn their dreams into reality.
