GCUF Holds Seerah Seminar on Peace and Conflict Resolution

Government College University Faisalabad’s Department of Islamic Studies, in collaboration with the Rahmatul-lil-Alameen Chair and the National Rahmatul-lil-Alameen Wa Khatamun Nabiyyin Authority, organized a seminar on “Seerah and Peace: A Prophetic Paradigm of Conflict Resolution” in connection with Rabi al-Awwal and the International Day of Peace.

Welcoming the participants, Dr. Yasir Arfat, Chairman, Department of Islamic Studies, highlighted the objectives and importance of the seminar. Distinguished speakers, including Prof. Dr. Ishtiaq Ahmad Gondal, Prof. Dr. Muhammad Hammad Lakhvi, and Hafiz Amjad Hussain, shed light on the enduring relevance of the Prophet Muhammad’s (SAW) principles of coexistence, justice, and peace in addressing contemporary conflicts.

At this occasion Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Rauf-i-Azam, in his address, congratulated the department on organizing an impactful academic gathering. He emphasized that the Seerah of the Holy Prophet (SAW) is a complete code of life, and Muslims must shape their character and conduct in accordance with his noble example to promote peace, compassion, and mutual respect in society. He further added that such scholarly events play a crucial role in connecting academic research with the spiritual and moral development of individuals.

In his concluding remarks, Dean Faculty of Islamic and Oriental Learning, Prof. Dr. Humayun Abbas Shams, appreciated the efforts of the faculty and reiterated the need for continued intellectual engagements on the Seerah to guide both academic and social life.
