Efforts are being made to resolve students’ issues and promote research – Vice Chancellor Dr. Rauf-i-Azam

The meeting of the Advanced Studies and Research Board of Government College University Faisalabad was held under the chairmanship of Vice Chancellor Professor Dr. Rauf Azam in Iqbal Hall, Old Campus. All members of the Advanced Studies and Research Board and Deans attended the meeting.

Director of Advanced Studies, Professor Dr. Matloob Hussain, briefed the participants on the meeting agenda and key points, while Registrar Ghulam Ghous performed the duties of Secretary. Evaluation reports of PhD theses from various students were presented during the meeting, which were approved after detailed discussions. Significant steps were taken to address longstanding issues faced by MPhil and PhD students and to ensure their degrees are completed within the stipulated time. Extensions were granted to students who were unable to submit their theses by the due date. The meeting emphasized taking further steps to provide more facilities and ease for students in relation to research and thesis submission.

On this occasion, Vice Chancellor Professor Dr. Rauf Azam stated that the Advanced Studies and Research Board meeting is being held every month without interruption, which helps ensure coordination among departments and enables the timely resolution of students’ issues on a priority basis. He said that all possible support is being provided to students facing difficulties with research and thesis work, in order to foster a culture of research in the country.

He further added that substantial efforts are being made to provide students with a better academic environment and to create future employment opportunities for them so that, upon graduation, they can play a constructive role in the country’s economy.
