The Institute of Art and Design at 𝐆𝐨𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐧𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐂𝐨𝐥𝐥𝐞𝐠𝐞 𝐔𝐧𝐢𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐬𝐢𝐭𝐲 𝐅𝐚𝐢𝐬𝐚𝐥𝐚𝐛𝐚𝐝 hosted an impressive Textile Design Degree Show, showcasing the creative thesis projects of final semester BS Textile Design students.

The exhibition was formally inaugurated by Vice Chancellor 𝐏𝐫𝐨𝐟. 𝐃𝐫. 𝐑𝐚𝐮𝐟-𝐢-𝐀𝐳𝐚𝐦, who appreciated the students’ artistic expression and innovative approach. He was joined at the event by 𝐌𝐬. 𝐓𝐞𝐡𝐦𝐢𝐧𝐚 𝐀𝐟𝐳𝐚𝐥, Incharge of the Institute of Art and Design, and 𝐌𝐬. 𝐍𝐢𝐠𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐒𝐡𝐚𝐡𝐢𝐝 from the Women Chamber of Commerce, Faisalabad, along with faculty members and other distinguished guests.

The degree show featured a wide array of textile creations, including 𝐡𝐨𝐦𝐞 𝐝𝐞́𝐜𝐨𝐫 𝐢𝐭𝐞𝐦𝐬, 𝐢𝐧𝐝𝐮𝐬𝐭𝐫𝐢𝐚𝐥 𝐭𝐞𝐱𝐭𝐢𝐥𝐞 𝐩𝐫𝐨𝐝𝐮𝐜𝐭𝐬, 𝐈𝐬𝐥𝐚𝐦𝐢𝐜 𝐨𝐫𝐧𝐚𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐚𝐥 𝐝𝐞𝐬𝐢𝐠𝐧𝐬, 𝐡𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐞𝐦𝐛𝐫𝐨𝐢𝐝𝐞𝐫𝐲, 𝐡𝐚𝐧𝐝𝐦𝐚𝐝𝐞 𝐜𝐚𝐫𝐩𝐞𝐭𝐬, 𝐳𝐚𝐫𝐢 𝐬𝐭𝐢𝐭𝐜𝐡 𝐰𝐨𝐫𝐤, 𝐜𝐡𝐢𝐥𝐝 𝐚𝐫𝐭, 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐩𝐢𝐞𝐜𝐞𝐬 𝐢𝐧𝐬𝐩𝐢𝐫𝐞𝐝 𝐛𝐲 𝐧𝐨𝐬𝐭𝐚𝐥𝐠𝐢𝐜 𝐞𝐥𝐞𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐬 𝐨𝐟 𝐜𝐡𝐢𝐥𝐝𝐡𝐨𝐨𝐝.
The collection represented a diverse blend of traditional craftsmanship and contemporary textile innovation, reflecting the students’ deep understanding of both aesthetics and functionality.

Speaking on the occasion, Vice Chancellor Dr. Rauf-i-Azam lauded the students for their exceptional work and emphasized the relevance of their skills to Faisalabad’s textile industry.
“Faisalabad is the hub of textile manufacturing, and our students have demonstrated that they are well-equipped to meet the evolving needs of the industry,” he said.

He added that the textile designs produced by students should be introduced to the commercial market and recommended that the industry should actively offer internship and job opportunities to graduating students.

Dr. Rauf-i-Azam further stressed the need for stronger academia-industry linkages to ensure that young graduates can play a constructive role in the national economy.

The degree show was not only a celebration of creativity but also served as a platform to bridge education, art, and industry, showcasing the potential of the next generation of textile designers.
