The Department of Islamic Studies at Government College University Faisalabad successfully conducted a research seminar for scholars of PhD (Session 2024–27) and MPhil (Session 2024–26). Organized by the department’s young PhD faculty, the seminar witnessed active participation from faculty members and scholars. Each scholar presented two preliminary research areas and an initial proposal outline, demonstrating their academic orientation and research aspirations.

Dr. Muhammad Hamid Raza, PhD, Coordinator, provided an in-depth briefing on the significance of research planning, proposal structuring, and alignment with the university’s approved format. Faculty members offered critical feedback and academic guidance, helping students refine their research ideas and align them with contemporary issues and research gaps in the field of Islamic studies.

In his address, 𝐃𝐫. 𝐘𝐚𝐬𝐢𝐫 𝐀𝐫𝐟𝐚𝐭 Chairman of the Department, emphasized the importance of originality, relevance, and social applicability in research. He encouraged scholars to focus on contemporary challenges, offering solutions through Islamic perspectives. Dr. Arfat further noted that the Honorable Vice Chancellor takes a keen interest in strengthening the research culture at GCUF to enhance the university’s academic standing nationally and internationally.

𝐏𝐫𝐨𝐟. 𝐃𝐫. 𝐇𝐮𝐦𝐚𝐲𝐮𝐧 𝐀𝐛𝐛𝐚𝐬 𝐒𝐡𝐚𝐦𝐬, Dean, Faculty of Islamic and Oriental Learning, highlighted that research requires dedication, discipline, and scholarly integrity. He urged scholars to cultivate the mindset and habits of true researchers. He also appreciated the initiative of the department and the leadership of Dr. Yasir Arfat in fostering a strong academic environment.

Dr. Mahmud Ahmed, Secretary of the Departmental Research Committee, remarked that Such seminars are an excellent opportunity for scholars to share their research interests and receive constructive feedback. These sessions help scholars polish and refine their proposed topics in line with academic expectations and societal relevance.

The organizing committee, Dr. Sobia Nosheen, Dr. Saima Ashraf, and Dr. Asgher was commended by faculty and scholars alike for their commitment and efforts in making the seminar a productive and impactful event.

After the seminar, certificates of participation were distributed among the scholars and faculty members in recognition of their active involvement.
