Industrial Linkages

Vision

Directorate of Industrial Linkage (DIL) enables to shed light on motivations, barriers of cooperation and influence of public policy in developing such linkages. DIL aims to play its crucial role as a mediator and modulator for skill development, adoption of knowledge, promotion of entrepreneurship and innovation. DIL aids in strengthening R & D investment via exploiting the synergies and complementry present in scientific and technological capabilities. This in turn, nurtures commercialization and mobility of labor in both the public and private sector.

Mission

Since its inception, the Directorate of International Linkages is striving for excellence to meet its directive through proactive and ambitious approach. This office has a focus to initiate linkages with reputable institutions and funding agencies and consortia with relevant academic and research organizations at international levels with the purpose of faculty and student exchanges within national and foreign universities and research institutes.

Introduction

University-industry linkage is really an imperative for the progress and prosperity of the nation. It is essential to identify the areas of collaboration, co-ordination and mutual support between the two basic sectors for sustainable national progress. The level and nature of academics and research has always played an important role in the process of development and is a common practice in the developed countries. Over the years, industry-academia collaboration has enhanced knowledge, innovation and played an integral part in the economic growth of developed countries. The linkage of academia and industry has a strategic role in developing critical skills required by industry generation, acquisition, and adoption of knowledge and in promoting entrepreneurship.

Objectives

  1. To strengthen academia-industry relationship to promote technology-transfer and commercialization activities

  2. To promote multi-disciplinary research initiatives at Government College University, Faisalabad

  3. To expand and integrate research activities at all levels at GCUF and to determine its strategic research directions and policies

  4. To promote research and development activities to link & upgrade the competitiveness of industrial sector and to support local and the national economy

  5. To develop, expand, enhance and manage university’s research programs

  6. To link research activities directly to the educational, social and industries

  7. To promote and improve multi-disciplinary research initiatives

  8. To increase and diversifying external research funding

  9. To translate research for the public’s benefit

  3. Scheduled mega industrial Expo-23 on 20-21 March, 23
  4. More than 500 student internships in industries
