
GC University Faisalabad has inaugurated a state-of-the-art semi-commercial food processing center to cater to the needs of its community and students. The center aims to provide high-quality, fresh bakery products, fruits, and vegetable-based items at affordable prices.
The opening ceremony was graced by the honorable Vice Chancellor, Professor Dr. Rauf-i-Azam, who officially inaugurated the center. Joining him were Dr. Farhan Saeed, Chairman of the Department of Food Science, Pro Vice Chancellor Professor Dr. Nasir Amin, university deans, directors, and faculty members.
The center offers a variety of premium food products, including fresh bread, rusks, biscuits, cakes, pickles, ketchup, and squashes. These products are available daily to students and residents of the university staff colony at reasonable rates.
Speaking at the event, Professor Dr. Rauf Azam emphasized that the center’s primary objective is to provide students with hands-on experience in modern research and food processing techniques. The initiative is designed to prepare students for producing food products on a commercial scale. He also commended the efforts of Dr. Farhan Saeed and his team for their hard work and dedication.
The Vice Chancellor reaffirmed his commitment to maintaining the highest standards of hygiene and quality in food production, ensuring that the university community has access to healthy and safe products.
This innovative center not only strengthens the academic foundation of students in food sciences but also addresses the practical needs of the GC University Faisalabad community, making it a significant milestone in the institution’s journey toward excellence.
